Mother's Heart Project
Mother's Heart house is located in Jimbaran, near the capital of Denpasar. Begun by Ine Bilangi in 2003, she currently cares for 4 beautiful children, 2 boys and 2 girls, who were abandoned by their mothers. She loves them all very much. Her goal is to have several smaller cell houses in which no more than 8-10 children would live so they can grow up in more of a home-like environment. Ine has also pioneered the Adopted Kids program. She finds financial support to assist the children who live in the slum areas so they are able to attend school. This way, the family can remain intact and the children have a chance to get an education and have hope for a better future. Ine visits regularly, ministering to the children through a VBS type program and to their parents as well, providing a basic first aid and family planning education to the women.
Jewel of the Nation
Located in Singaraja, Jewel of the Nation is currently home to approximately forty children, ranging in age from two to twenty. Dintje and Ventje Tambuwun established Jewel of the Nation in 1998 after witnessing the toll the economic crisis took on innocent children. Many of the children are living there because their parents were unable to provide for them financially. Some are there due to abuse, neglect or abandonment; all are greatly loved and well cared for. All the children's basic needs are provided. Since education is important for the children's overall development, Dinetje endeavors to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to attend school and participate in learning activities.
With the help of Hands and Feet sponsorship they have been able to construct and move into their current permanent facility where they are able to care for more children. Eventually they hope to expand and have their own school and health clinic on the property.
His Children - India
North of the Bay of Bengal in India, there is a small village called Ponnur. In this mostly Hindu village, there is a wonderful body of believers, working together to change their community. A man named Emmanuel runs an orphanage, which now houses 51 orphans. Forty of these orphans come from the tsunami that struck Sri Lanka and India a couple of years ago. Ten are the children of missionaries who have been killed, or Christian converts who have died because of their beliefs. In addition to serving and seeing to these orphan's every need, Emmanuel runs a ministry for widows bringing food, clothing, and Jesus to local Christian widows. He also runs a ministry for lepers, giving them food, clothing, supplies for sleeping safely outdoors, and the Gospel.
As of now, the only support that Emmanuel has coming in from the outside is that which has come from word of mouth by sharing his amazing story.
