Thanks to you our faithful supporters, the Hands &Feet
Foundation is on the move! Our shoe drive to the orphanage in Kabul, Afganistan yeilded enough shoes for 25 children Our contact there was thrilled when they arrived and dispersed them almost immediately. In March of this year, Sue Hosier led a group
to Bali to visit two orphanages and an outreach ministry that the foundation supports.
Rachel Dixon, Sunday Pearson (New Outreach Coordinator), and Kelly Pearson accompanied Sue
on the whirlwind visit. On Sunday morning, they attended El Shaddai (God Almighty) Church
in Jimbaran. They were heartily greeted by Pastor Tommy Dayoh and the congregation. Our
tired travelers came away revived in the knowledge that they had met the Holy Spirit in that place! In a country dominated by pagan religion, it was an amazing priviledge to be part of such a small but devoted group of Christians. On Monday, they visited the Mother's
Heart Project operated by a young Christian woman named Ine. In addition to caring for two abandoned children, Ine also has a street ministry into the slums of Denpasar. This out-reach is amazing and touches the lives of
both Hindu and Muslim children.Ine's God-given desire to expand her
orphanage is now in the planning stages since she purchased a small piece of land. For
practical purposes, more land will be needed and as a means to help make that a reality, the
foundation is looking into the prospect of conducting a fund-raiser this year with all proceeds
going directly to this purchase. There will be more details in a later
newsletter. Ine's compiled information on what she desires in the way of traditional Bali 'cell' houses, hasbeen turned over to Tore Pearson,
civil engineer, who will in turn work with Engineering Ministries International. This
non-profit Christian organizato in made up of architects, engineers, surveyors, and construction
managers donate their time and services to mobilize design professionals who minister to the
less fortunate in developing nations. Tore hopes to have a completed design in the near
future. On Tuesday, they traveled to Singaraja to visit Mordecai House with its 41 children. God provided them a capable driver named Sudi
and all four travelers consider him one of their new friends in Bali. Sudi told them about his
Hindu religion and in turn listened to their story about Jesus.
Although it was very hot and humid, the time spent with the children at Mordecai House
was amazing! The children are happy and well taken care of. One of the children, Caleb, has a
lung condition that flared up a couple of weeks ago. It required a trip to a lung specialist in Jakarta. The foundation took care of
Caleb's medical and travel expenses, but please keep him in your prayers for long-term
recovery. Our future news is that we are planning to senda medical team to Bali in March 2006 along with a production team from Loyola
Marymount University and Lakehills volunteers to conduct Vacation Bible School. More information will follow in the next
newsletter. In closing, to those of you who currently sponsor the foundation, from our hearts, we thank you for caring for those that the world has forgotten. For those of you who are not
yet partnering with us, please consider doing so. Contact either Sue Hosier at 984-9718
or Sunday Pearson at 939-8243 and they can answer your questions and get you plugged
into this mission outreach.
